Microneedling: Why It’s Still One of My Favorite Treatments for Skin Rejuvenation
With new skincare treatments appearing constantly, it can be tempting to believe that newer automatically means better. But there’s a reason microneedling continues to be one of the treatments I rely on again and again in my practice.
It works with your skin rather than simply treating the surface.
What Does Microneedling Actually Do?
Microneedling creates controlled microchannels in the skin, triggering the skin’s natural repair response. That process encourages collagen and elastin production and supports gradual remodeling of the skin.
Rather than trying to create an overnight transformation, microneedling helps improve the quality of the skin over time.
I commonly recommend microneedling for concerns including:
Fine lines and visible signs of aging
Acne scarring
Uneven texture
Enlarged pores
Sun-damaged skin
Uneven skin tone
Loss of firmness
Overall skin rejuvenation
One of the things I love most about microneedling is its versatility. Treatments can be customized based on your skin, your concerns and what we're trying to accomplish.
Microneedling Is More Than Just Using a Pen
The device is only one part of a successful treatment.
Technique, depth, skin preparation, treatment choice and aftercare all matter.
I've worked with advanced skincare treatments for more than a decade, and I don't believe every client's skin should receive exactly the same treatment simply because they're booking the same service.
Your age, skin condition, barrier health, pigmentation, sensitivity and goals all influence how I approach your treatment.
That's the difference between simply performing microneedling and creating a treatment plan.
Enhancing Microneedling With GHK-Cu Copper Peptides
I also offer microneedling with GHK-Cu copper peptides as an option for clients looking for advanced skin rejuvenation.
Copper peptides have become increasingly popular in professional skincare because of their role in supporting the skin's natural repair and renewal processes.
But again, more isn't always better.
My goal isn't to throw every trending ingredient at your skin. It's to select treatments and products that make sense for your skin.
Is One Microneedling Treatment Enough?
You can absolutely enjoy improvements following one treatment, particularly in the overall freshness and appearance of the skin.
For more significant concerns such as acne scarring, texture, pigmentation or visible aging, I generally recommend a series of treatments.
Skin remodeling takes time.
That's important because social media has created unrealistic expectations around skincare. Healthy skin isn't created by one miracle product or one aggressive treatment.
It's created through consistency and a plan.
Microneedling vs. Chemical Peels and Biostimulating Treatments
This is another question I hear frequently:
Which treatment is better?
The answer depends on your skin.
Microneedling, chemical peels, BioRePeel and PRX Plus don't need to compete with each other. They give me different tools to address different concerns.
Someone with acne scarring may benefit from a very different treatment plan than someone primarily concerned with pigmentation, dullness or skin laxity.
And sometimes the best approach isn't choosing one treatment forever. It's strategically alternating treatments throughout the year.
Your Skin Should Determine the Treatment
One of the biggest mistakes I see in skincare is choosing treatments because they're trending rather than because they're appropriate.
That's why I look at the skin first.
What are we trying to improve?
What condition is the skin barrier in?
What are you using at home?
How much downtime are you comfortable with?
And what is realistic for your budget?
Those answers help determine the right treatment plan.
If you're in Orange City, DeLand, DeBary, Deltona, Sanford, Lake Mary or the surrounding Central Florida area and you're considering microneedling, I'd be happy to help determine whether it's the right choice for your skin.
