Microneedling Isn't Just About the Device — It's About the Experience Behind It
Why choosing an experienced microneedling professional matters more than you might think.
Microneedling has become one of the most popular skin rejuvenation treatments, and for good reason. When performed appropriately, it can help improve the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, uneven texture, and overall skin quality.
But here's something I wish more people understood: Not all microneedling treatments are created equal.
The device matters. The technique matters. The products used matter. But perhaps most importantly, the knowledge and experience of the professional performing your treatment matter.
Microneedling Is More Than Running a Pen Across Your Face
Professional microneedling works by creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin, stimulating the body's natural repair processes and supporting collagen remodeling.
However, achieving beautiful results requires much more than simply owning a microneedling device.
Skin thickness, sensitivity, treatment depth, needle configuration, and individual skin concerns all influence how a treatment should be approached.
What works beautifully for one client may not be appropriate for another.
That's why I don't believe in cookie-cutter skincare protocols.
Why Microneedling Depth Matters
One of the biggest misconceptions about microneedling is that deeper treatments automatically produce better results.
They don't.
Treatment depth should be selected based on the area being treated, the condition of the skin, the intended outcome, and the client's individual risk factors.
More aggressive treatments can increase the risk of prolonged inflammation, pigmentation changes, and unnecessary damage.
The goal isn't to create the most dramatic-looking treatment.
The goal is to encourage healthy skin rejuvenation while respecting the skin's ability to recover.
Your Skin Barrier Should Never Be an Afterthought
Healthy skin starts with a healthy skin barrier.
Before recommending microneedling, I evaluate the condition of your skin, including signs of dehydration, sensitivity, inflammation, and barrier impairment.
Sometimes the best treatment decision is to postpone microneedling and focus on restoring skin health first.
And yes, that may mean recommending skincare rather than an immediate procedure.
Because the right treatment at the wrong time is still the wrong treatment.
What About Copper Peptides and Professional Serums?
Microneedling is frequently paired with specialized topical products, but not every serum belongs on freshly treated skin.
Product formulation, sterility, compatibility, and intended use are important considerations.
GHK-Cu copper peptides have attracted interest for their potential role in skin repair and rejuvenation, although clinical evidence for their added benefits specifically with microneedling remains limited.
I believe in understanding the ingredients, choosing products carefully, and prioritizing safety rather than following every new skincare trend.
Your skin deserves more than marketing hype.
Experience Matters — Especially When It's Your Face
I began offering microneedling in the Orange City area more than a decade ago, long before it became the popular treatment it is today.
My background includes a year-long advanced skincare education program with extensive hands-on training, followed by years of treating different skin types, ages, and concerns.
Over time, I've learned that great skincare isn't about being aggressive.
It's about knowing when to treat, how to approach each client's skin, and when a different treatment may be more appropriate.
I also believe in realistic expectations.
Microneedling can produce meaningful improvements in skin appearance, but it isn't a facelift, and significant changes often require a series of treatments.
Beautiful Skin Doesn't Require Chasing Every Trend
At Diane Shadgett Advanced Skincare, my philosophy has always been about aging with grace, maintaining healthy skin, and helping clients feel confident at every stage of life.
Whether you're concerned about fine lines, acne scarring, enlarged pores, or changes in skin texture, your treatment should be designed around your individual needs.
Not a trending video.
Not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
And certainly not the idea that more aggressive always means better.
Healthy skin. Thoughtful treatments. Realistic results.
That's the approach I've believed in for over a decade.
